The Boy To Be With
On this album Pierce Turner’s influences range from The Byrds to The Pogues, The Beach Boys and The Who. The Boy To Be With is unique in that one of its tracks, ‘The Ballad Of Rory Gallagher’, a heartfelt tribute to the late Irish bluesman, features samples of Gallagher’s trademark blues licks. ‘The Ballad Of Rory Gallagher’ is part of a three-piece suite of folk songs on The Boy To Be With, and the album also contains the songs, ‘Drumsna’ ‘The Bright and early’ ‘Omagh’ and one cover version, Turner’s reworking of the Mann-Weil classic ‘See That Girl’.
