The Blue Jukebox
Having set up his own Jazzee Blue label, Rea is no longer constrained by the demands of major labels and can create music that reflects his free musical spirit. Having changed his musical direction with his last LP, Dancing Down The Stony Road, Rea has established a sound in which he revels, and this release only reinforces his vision. Brooding with themes borrowed from jazz and blues, songs like ‘Long is the time’ and ‘Let it roll’ place you right in a smoky bar in some lost town, where tracks like ‘Restless Soul’ show how easy this sound sits with Rea.
