Seize the Day
(18/100 The People's Choice)
Mark Coghlan, hotpress.com:
"Seize The Day is like one big history book. Damien Dempsey talks of the good, the bad and the ugly of Irish society. Sometimes the lyrics are harsh but they’re also always very real. He sings with a passion I can only compare to Stevie Wonder. It’s a rarity these days to find music so full of emotion. ‘Factories’ is sung with a rawness that stands those hairs on the back of your neck up; along with other classics such as the uppity ‘It’s All Good’ and the very true ‘Marching Season Siege’ which sums up the feeling of many in this country regarding marching season in the North, it makes for a modern Irish classic."
