Make Up The Breakdown
They may hail from Victoria, BC, not far from Seattle, their album was produced by Jack Endino and the band started out on Sub Pop, but Hot Hot Heat are no grunge throwback. Rather, they’re closer to classic New Wave circa ’79 – XTC, The Clash, Elvis Costello – you know the score. Spiky guitars, tight rhythms and loadsa post-punk attitude. Spin magazine called this “the sound of punk teaching itself to dance”. Go fetch.
