In other Josh Ritter news, he was the guest performer last week as Keira Knightley celebrated her 21st birthday with a 1920s themed party in London’s Paper club.
“I got a call from a friend of hers saying that Keira was a fan and was there any chance that I’d be in London?” Ritter tells Hot Press. “I was flying in on the day in question to do radio and press, so it worked out perfectly.
“I took the tube into central London where a beautiful little room had been rented for the occasion. We were trying to keep it a surprise from Keira, so I got a whiskey and soda and did my best to stay out of sight. When it was time, her father introduced me and I played several songs. Keira was so surprised and thrilled, which made me feel pretty great! I’m not used to being the girl who jumps out of the cake after all!
“She knew all the words and when I was done we hung out a bit. She’s a wonderful girl and lucky to have some genuinely good friends around her at this time in her life.”
