Last night, the tousle-haired singer took to the stage at Whelan’s for her debut Dublin performance and consequently knocked the crowd out with her unique brand of pop rock. Between soundcheck and nap time, Megan Washington was cornered (quite literally) by Hot Press' Rachel Beckwith to talk about her recent European conquest.

Producer Michael Brauer - whose credits include no less than Bob Dylan, Coldplay and The Rolling Stones - worked on Washington’s new album, which won Best Breakthrough Artist at last year’s Aria Music Awards. We started by asking what ingredients went into the bittersweet mix of Washington’s sound.
