On this day in 1977: David Bowie releases Heroes single with Brian Eno
Just for one day.
Co-written by David Bowie and Brian Eno with Tony Visconti on the production, Heroes features King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp and is one of the most celebrated tracks of Bowie.
The song was released as the lead single from his 12th studio album of the same name and it included the b-side V-2 Schneider. 43 years have passed since this collector’s item was sold in record stores world wide for the first time, so we’re looking at the different eras Bowie lived since then through photographs we keep in our archive.
Shows like Slane Castle with photos by Colm Henry, his gig at The Olympia Theatre captured by Cathal Dawson or his rare performance at The Baggot Inn with his band Tin Machine in 1991 witnessed by Kate Horgan and her camera are some of the highlights of this gallery but we couldn’t leave behind famous portraits like the ones Herb Ritts took between the 80s and the 90s. It's a nice set of pics to look at while listening to the latest David Bowie's release Ouvrez Le Chien.
