An EMOTIONAL night with an EMOTIONAL man, Mick Flannery Live at the Marquee. In 2009, Flannery performed on the Marquee stage alongside John Spillane and at the time said being asked to perform there was "daunting". On Friday night the Blanney singer/songwriter and stonemason returned to headline in front of his home crowd with a poignant, moving, and powerful display of the renowned artist's talents. The night kicked off with the wonderful Susan O'Neill first on stage as a special guest. Flannery began the main performance with an intro on piano before his band came on. During the magical gig, there were duets with Andrew House aka Christy Skulls, Ricky Lynch, a local Cork legend, to revisit when Ricky gave Mick his first break in the music business, and Susan O’Neill returned for a special duet. All this in the company of friends and family made for a special night that will be remembered for a long time on Leeside.
