Hot Press Chatroom @ Electric Picnic: Bob Geldof
As good a raconteur as he is a rock star, watch The Boomtown Rats' frontman in flying form.
Fresh off the Main Stage, having just slipped out of his faux snakeskin suit, Bob Geldof was still channeling "Bobby Boomtown" as he arrived in the Hot Press Chatroom to declare his Boomtown Rats to be "the greatest rock 'n' roll band to ever come out of Ireland!" An unbiased opinion, naturally.
In conversation with Stuart Clark, Geldof discussed how, sadly, the social commentary in his early hits was as relevant as ever and why we should be as angry with our country today as he was back in the day. In a career-spanning interview, he also reminisces about their infamous show at Leixlip Castle, how suspicious the punk scene in the UK were of them, and much more.
