Beat the winter blues by streaming yourself three videos from Daemien Frost
For your multi-sensorial pleasure, Hotpress.com happily announce the streaming of three videos from Dublin’s avant-garde instrumentalists, the fabulously frenetic Daemien Frost.
Who the hell are they?
Daemien Frost are a three-piece suite of bass heavy, rhythmically rampant musicians bereft of standard sensibilities, with a penchant for innovative music charged with substance and smarts. Although challenging to the virginal ear, they have carved out a formidable niche amongst their contemporaries, and remain one of the most exciting crews of musical scientists around. You, however, are the lab rat.
Why are they on the hallowed pages of hotpress.com?
Well, since releasing their debut LP Corpus Daemo in 2001, the Frosties have been clicking away at their computers and gathering together a series of music videos for each of the seven songs on Corpus Daemo. This collection is to be released on a bonus CD accompanying their sophomore album, Heavy Medal, which is due out in December through the French label RedF (who have also released material for the likes of The Redneck Manifesto and The Connect Four Orchestra).
Oh, I see. So tell me a bit about the videos then.

All music is available from Road Records on Fade St, Tower Records on Wicklow St and Freebird on the Quays (all Dublin 2). Live-wise, there are two gigs coming up in November in Dublin and Limerick with Sweep The Leg Johnny and The Redneck Manifesto – dates still tbc – then in March 2003 they embark on a three-week Italian tour with The Jimmy Cake, including a date in an ampitheatre in Sardinia. (NB it may be handier to catch them in this country. Just maybe). Then, in April/May of 2003, recording of the third album will commence, with Tim Green (The Nation Of Ulysses, The Fucking Champs) on knob-twiddling duties. This will be (“hopefully”) followed by a US tour. All other queries, questions, requests and even answers can be mailed to [email protected].
