Trump rejects P Diddy pardon request
Sean Combs was found guilty on 2 counts related to transporting individuals for sex work, and has been sentenced to just over four years in prison.
US President Donald Trump has said he will deny rapper and convicted felon Sean 'Diddy' Combs clemency following a pardon request.
Combs wrote to Trump seeking a presidential pardon this past summer. During an interview with the New York Times on Thursday, the US President said he will not be considering clemency for the rap producer, known for producing hip-hop stars such as The Notorious B.I.G and Mary J. Blige.
Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison this past October, following his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Additional charges faced included racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion - both of which he was acquitted.
Last month, Combs' legal team also consulted with the federal appeals court, asking for his immediate release from prison.
Trump has previously provided clemency to musicians such as rapper NBA YoungBoy, who was sentenced to two years in prison in 2024 for admitting he owned weapons despite already being a felon. The US President also pardoned hip-hop musician Lil Wayne and trap artist Kodak Black, who were convicted on federal weapons charges.
