New Legal Framework Must Accommodate Northern Ireland Women With Crisis Pregnancies

The call comes from Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Health, Stephen Donnelly TD.
Deputy Donnelly told us, “The Government must allow women in Northern Ireland to avail of the services that will be enabled in the Republic following the passage of new legislation giving effect to the outcome of the referendum.
“There are already all-island agreements in place on access to health care. Fianna Fáil believe it would be compassionate, prudent and pragmatic to examine arrangements for women in crisis pregnancies to access GP services in the Republic for advice on terminations."
He concluded: “My Party Leader Micheál Martin has raised this issue directly with the Taoiseach and we will debate this issue in the Dáil."
