The Jameson International Graduate Programme is a truly unique offering that empowers graduates from all backgrounds to kickstart their career in marketing with a global Irish brand in one of over 35 international markets, including markets across Europe and emerging markets in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
According to new research commissioned by the Jameson International Graduate Programme, almost a third of young people in Ireland are considering seeking opportunities abroad in the next five years. The research also found that the majority of those considering moving overseas (89%) would like the security and familiarity of working for an Irish brand abroad.
The opportunity to travel and experience new cultures is one of the key characteristics of the Jameson International Graduate Programme, which provides graduates with the tools and opportunity to realise their personal and professional goals while working for an Irish brand, as part of a global community.
Ruth Fagan joined the Jameson International Graduate Programme in August 2021. After spending her first 12-month placement based in Barcelona, she is now midway through her second placement based in Dublin.
“No two days are the same as a Jameson Brand Ambassador,” says Fagan. “My main focus while I was based in Spain was to build brand awareness. One day I could be running masterclasses with the bartending community, the next, hosting a Jameson pop-up event where local artists get to share their talents with the wider community.
“In terms of career ambition, I want to continue to explore and develop my skills in marketing and build a career in brand management. I would recommend the programme to anyone who has an appetite for sales and marketing, has been bitten by the travel bug and would like to discover new cultures.”
Sinéad D’Arcy, Head of Jameson International Graduate Programme adds: “Following a milestone year for Jameson, with record global growth of 22%, it has never been a more exciting time to join the team. Jameson Brand Ambassadors have played a critical role in the growth of Irish whiskey on the world stage over the past 30 years and many have remained within the wider network, with some having gone on to hold leadership positions within Irish Distillers domestically and Pernod Ricard globally. We look for graduates who are creative, innovative self-starters with an entrepreneurial mindset. We call this ‘Serious Character’.”
