He once played a boxing champ in Raging Bull, but now Hollywood actor Robert De Niro confesses that he’s like a bull in a china shop who would love to punch Donald Trump in order to teach him some manners! While action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger has also admitted that he too would like to take a pop at the US President and “smash his face into the table”!
Last year, Robert De Niro recorded a video message in which he made it very clear that he didn't like the idea of Trump becoming the next US President. He colourfully described Trump as “a bozo”, a “a pig”, “a dog”, “a punk”, “a con”, “ a bullshit artist” and “an embarrassment to this country”.
He also memorably added in the anti-Trump video that went viral: “He’s an idiot. Colin Powell said it best: he’s a national disaster… He talks how he’d like to punch people in the face – well, I’d like to punch him in the face.”
Asked in an interview during the weekend if he’d still like to knock Trump’s lights out, De Niro didn’t pull any punches with his answer: “Of course I want to punch him in the face!”
De Niro added, “I said that because he said that about somebody that he would like to punch them in the face. How dare he say that to the crowd? How dare he say the things he does? It was only a symbolic thing, anyway. It wasn’t like I was going to go find him and punch him in the face. But he’s got to hear it. He’s got to hear that, you know, that’s how he makes people feel. It’s not good to feel that way. It’s not good to start that stuff up, but at the same time sometimes when people are bullies like that, that’s what you have to do to shut them up. Bully them back.”
Meanwhile, Arnold Schwarzenegger – who has replaced Donald Trump as the host of the reality TV Show, ‘The Apprentice’ – says he too wants to have a go at the US President after he made bizarre comments about a drop in the show’s ratings. “I called my assistant and said, ‘I think what we really should do is request a meeting and go back to New York – and then we just smash his face into the table,” he says in a new interview with Men’s Journal.
He then insisted that he was joking, adding: “I think we can’t do that, either. I think I have to be above all of that and put him on the spot."
At a prayer meeting last week, President Donald Trump said: "When I ran for president, I had to leave the show. They hired a big, big movie star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to take my place. And we know how that turned out. The ratings went right down the tubes. It’s been a total disaster, and Mark will never, ever bet against Trump again. I want to just pray for Arnold, if we can."
But the ex-Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger has also now taken to Instagram to have another pop at Trump, saying: “Hey Donald, I have a great idea – why don’t we switch jobs? And then people can finally sleep comfortably again.”
