Live At Forbidden Fruit: Molly Sterling And Ailbhe Reddy
Two of Ireland's most promising songstresses - Molly Sterling and Ailbhe Reddy - got things off to a euphoric start on the last day of Forbidden Fruit.
First up was Molly Sterling, an Irish Eurovision hopeful in 2015, whose anthemic brand of pop rippled around the grounds at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
Still aged just 20, Sterling's soaring and arresting vocals brought the more indie-rock inclined Monday of the festival to life, warming up the all-Irish Bulmers stage for what was to come - Fontaines DC and David Keenan.
Ailbhe Reddy - who sat down for an insightful interview with Hot Press yesterday - followed Sterling up. She name-checked Amy Winehouse as a primary influence and the cathartic, bristling, short-set she put together - old songs and new - ensured her place as a rising star.
