Zulu Sound
Following the release of debut EP Zulu Sound, prepare to hear everyone and their Nana compare Planet Parade front man Michael Hopkins to new wave forefather Sting, which is just fine by me, so long as they don’t neglect to point out that Mr. Sumner would step over his own yoga instructor to sound as good as this Kildare lad again. I’m not altogether sure what the Zulu in the title refers to (submarine, South African tribe or Commodore 64 game?), but this track manages to be breezy and sinister at the same time, all while showing that PP have mastered the art of punk rock throwback.
