Yeti Lane
Decent indie rock effort – but sadly not enough songs about tortoises
ast year Yeti Lane gave us one of the most memorable singles about a tortoise (‘Lonesome George’) in possibly the history of mankind. Sadly their self-titled album fails to reach the same dizzy heights. That’s not to say Yeti Lane is going to make its way to the nearest bargain bin. If you give the record time there are plenty of rewards to be gleaned. Yes, it’s a complex slab of wax that invokes the ghosts of Lou Barlow and Velvet Underground. However, gems like ‘Black Soul’ and ‘Lucky Bag’ are definitely worth your patience.
