Yeah Yeah
Painted by the accompanying press release as a sharp-dressed retro revivalist, 21-year-old Lee Evans-lookalike Willy Moon is not quite the slick-haired throwback the record label would have you believe. Rather, his sound is really a melting-pot of many groove-led genres, including hip hop, blues, soul and early rock ‘n’ roll. Built around a sample from Wu-Tang Clan’s classic ‘Wu-Tang Ain’t Nuthing Ta F’Wit’, ‘Yeah Yeah’ is an undeniably massive piece of wonky soul pop, even if it doesn’t fit neatly into any one genre.
