World premieres confirmed for The Music Show
iTab launch will spark huge interest.
iTab Ltd. is using the Music Show in the RDS to launch a major innovation in music technology.
Visitors to the Maynooth company’s stand will get an exclusive look at their eponymous iTab, a 5” touch-screen device that scrolls lyrics and chords in perfect time, as well as playing backing tracks and tuition videos.
“At the Music Show,” says Hot Press editor Niall Stokes, “iTab will be giving away some of the first devices off their production line to visitors to their Guitar Bar. This is a particularly timely launch, not least in the light of film director Neil Jordan's comments at last week's Global Irish Economic Forum at Farmleigh when he said that while the Irish people had been let down by the banks, the construction industry and the Church, our cultural industry has not failed us. The iTab has the potential to be a major seller worldwide, and it’s exciting that the company has opted to launch it at The Music Show.”
The iTab, which may eventually eliminate the need for printed music tablature, and ensure that forgotten lyrics and chord confusion become a thing of the past, isn’t the only product making its debut at the Music Show.
“Other key events,” Stokes continues, “include the world launch by Irish-owned start-up company KMI Distribution of the MA range of amplification, part of the legendary Marshall range and designed by Marshall Research and Development team. By keeping the amplifier simple, the MA delivers the benefits of all-valve tone and colour, while maintaining an attractive price tag. That they’re built to endure the rigours of touring is another major factor of the series.”
The Music Show, presented by Hot Press in association with RTÉ 2FM, The Irish Independent & The Sunday Independent, runs from October 3-4th in The RDS, Dublin. Saturday 3rd October 10 am - 6.30 pm, Sunday 4th October 11 am - 6 pm.
