World beaters
Jimmy exude a certain hardcore decadence - a classy concoction of melodious harmonies, pounding basslines and chunky guitars
Oh yeah. Jimmy Eat World are the proud owners of the 3 P’s – a crucial musical
combination, an elusive quandry if you will, known only by a select few: pop, punk and power. Not to be confused with the Blink 182’s and Sum 41’s of this world, Jimmy exude a certain hardcore decadence – a classy concoction of melodious harmonies, pounding basslines and chunky guitars.
Tonight, their fine form is reciprocated by a rather frenzied audience, stuffed ludicrously into TBMC with some being forced up and over, surfing the crowd with legs and arms flailing like there’s no tomorrow.
Jimmy have been turning heads of late with their utterly infectious, intelligent rock denomination – and rightly so. By all accounts, these Arizona natives have got just the juice to make it to the top. On stage, they are tight and well rehearsed without a bum note in sight and ‘The Middle’ and ‘Bleed American’, the first two singles to be taken from their self titled LP, were lapped up with complete abandon. So did they rock?
Hell yeah.
