Wilko Johnson, the revered six-stringer and former Dr Feelgood man, has been forced to cancel all his forthcoming public engagements. It means his Dublin date in The Academy on Friday May 30 will not go ahead.

Johnson is currently battling pancreatic cancer and is now in need of a "medical procedure".

The official statement says that doctors are hopeful that, post-surgery, the prognosis for Wilko will be positive.
