Wilco unveiled the music video for 'Meant To Be' from their Cousin album
The music video for Wilco's song "Meant to be" was filmed at Chicago's legendary roller rink, The Rink.
The set for Wilco’s newest music video was at the renowned roller skating rink on the southside of Chicago called The Rink.
The Rink was one of the birthplaces of “JB Skating.” This is a style of dancing and skating that rose to popularity in the 70s that consisted of laid back skating dances in synchronized groups that was often danced to the music of James Brown.
The 'Meant To Be' video places the band in the middle of the rink while dancers skate around them in this “JB Skating” style making the song feel like it is straight out of a romcom.
The album Cousin was named one of the Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of 2023. The album was produced by Cate Le Bon, a Welsh artist, who became the first producer for Wilco outside of their immediate circle since their Sky Blue Sky album.
Although Wilco has been on tour for some time now, they are now preparing for another tour in March through Japan and Australia as well as the Solid Sound Festival, which will be in North Adams, Massachusetts from June 28-30.
