What's going on in Killarney?
Hot Press' collective eagle eye (you know, There's No Escape, etc) has spotted an application for planning permission in the paper earlier this week - for a concert event at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney. What's the story? we asked MCD...
MCD Promotions have applied for a license to hold a concert event at the Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney, Co. Kerry during the period June 27th to July 7th 2002.
The application states that the event will consist of "a concert of live music performance". The application further states that they event is expected to attract an audience of 30,000 on each day of the event. It remains unclear if the event is to be a one-off concert or a series of related concerts.
When contacted by Hot Press, the office of Killarney town council stated that they had received no contact from the promoters at the time of going to press and said that our call was the first they had heard of any proposed concert.
MCD's Justin Green refused to comment. More information as we have it.
