Westlife Admit Defeat
WESTLIFE HAVE CALLED “time” on their efforts to break the American market.
Talking this week in the UK, manager Louis Walsh admitted that, “We’re not sure whether it’ll happen for us there. Our stronghold is in Britain and Europe. We’re doing really well here and don’t want to be associated with failure. We’re one of the biggest bands in Europe and we want to consolidate that position. As far as we’re concerned the US is off.”
Bryan McFadden admitted earlier in the year that the Stateside going had been tough: “We went to all these radio stations and they were like, ‘What are you guys called? West what? I’m gonna have to write that one down.’”
His sentiments were echoed by Mark Fehilly who revealed, “I have to go home every now and then to get back to normality. I’d probably end up a total psycho if I lived there all the time. There’s too much bullshit going on.”
