Went Away

As the men behind some of the most instantly immersive indie tracks of the noughties and one of the few guitar bands still capable of holding my attention in the computerised, 808-led twenty-tens, there’s no logical reason not to throw yourself at the mercy of The Maccabees. Third album Given To The Wild has already yielded two deliciously self-indulgent singles, and the third, ‘Went Away’, while it may be sweeter and that little bit more restrained, is no less impressive.
