Formerly known as We, The System (who were eh… formerly known as Trains), Wicklow rockers Croupier are sure to charm the thermals off fans of instrumental cohorts The Redneck Manifesto and Enemies. Their six-song QLP (Quite Long Player… a little something I prepared earlier…) veers arbitrarily from thoughtful gloom rock to winding instrumental loveliness to aggressive party whoops. Really impressive stuff, even if their name does make me think of row upon row of coughing babies…
