Waxahatchee shares uplifting new song 'Tomorrow'
The new single is one of a few pieces Waxahatchee composed for Apple TV's animated children TV series El Deafo
Indie folk musical project Waxahatchee has released a brand new single titled ''Tomorrow''.
The track will appear in the upcoming Apple TV+ series El Deafo. Based on the homonymous children's novel by Cece Bell, the series follows a young girl who must figure out how to navigate life after losing her hearing. The show will be available on the streaming platform from January 7.
“I’m so happy to finally announce an amazing project I had the honour of being a part of,” Waxahatchee said in a statement. “Last year I wrote some original music for a new show on Apple TV+ called El Deafo, based on the book of the same name by a true hero, Cece Bell."
"Myself along with Rob Barbato spent a few months arranging and recording these tunes and it was an amazing experience all around.”
Waxahatchee was founded by sole band member Katie Crutchfield in 2010. Her latest album Saint Cloud was met with critical acclaim, as well as nabbing the number two spot in the US folk charts.
Earlier this year, during a live performance in Brooklyn, the Alabama native invited indie sensation Snail Mail onto the stage for a rendition of Sheryl Crow’s 90s hit 'Strong Enough'.
