The Recession of 2008 crippled Michael Flynn's mattress business. In his plight to restore his mattress emporium and recover from financial despair, Flynn enlisted the help of struggling filmmaker Paul Kelly and Brian 'The Mattress Man' Traynor. Between them, they created the persona 'Mattress Mick' which has cultivated a celebrity status and helped Flynn's business from the depths of economic ruin. It's a story that will resonate with the masses nationwide as it is one of facing and overcoming adversity in the biggest Irish economic downturn in recent decades.
Mattress Men is directed by Colm Quinn and will debut at Toronto's HotDocs Festival before making its way to the Emerald Isle.
