WATCH: CMAT drops Muppet-inspired video for '2 Wrecked 2 Care'
CMAT sings with puppets about her experience with lack of sleep.
Delivering an ode to insomnia, CMAT has released a new music video for her recent track, '2 Wrecked 2 Care'.
It features the Irish singer-songwriter, full name Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, dueting with Muppet-inspired furniture and shoes about getting "One hour sleep, I'm the missing link between the living and the dead."
"I wrote it during a particularly bad period for my sleeping pattern," she explains. “It’s a song about not being able to fall asleep, and anxiety/stress-related insomnia, something I have suffered from for years. I think I developed it during years of low-paying, irregular shift work."
Described by the artist as what "would have happened if Sheryl Crow ever had to work in a TK Maxx," the video also showcases her comedic chops.
Directed by Avesta Keshtmand, the video is an excellent follow-up to her prior singles 'I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby!', 'Another Day (kfc)' and 'Rodney', cementing her status as one of Ireland's mostly exciting musical prospects.

CMAT previously spoke to Hot Press in February about her stratospheric rise over the last two years.
"I’m not trying to be ungrateful, but I’m too busy to notice accolades," she divulges.
"It’s a bad game to get into as an artist if you’re constantly wondering who’s giving you press and who isn’t. I don’t really care – it’s lovely when it happens but I just have to move on to my actual music. Nothing matters other than that; your priority always has to be the craft."
