Wasteland
In spite of a somewhat gloomy title, ‘Wasteland’ is among the sunniest tracks on Abandoned Road, the bold and bitter debut album from sinister Dublin rockers Tarantella Fall, which is precisely why it went down so well with punters at Castlepalooza and countless other festivals last summer. It’s not exactly ‘Shiny Happy People’, although Chris Kinsella’s lethargic growl does call to mind one Mr. Stipe at certain moments, but something about that sprightly guitar line is sweet as a nut.
