Walk On By

Lo-fi pop impresario Sarah Assbring is already on her fifth album, but until she collaborated with fellow Swede Lykke Li in 2010, her melodic, melancholic dance tunes neglected to gain her much attention outside of her homeland. Operating under the name El Perro Del Mar (or, The Dog Of The Sea, for those of you who failed Spanish) she’s hit an impossibly cool stride with ‘Walk On By’, the ‘90s-aping first single from the forthcoming Pale Fire album, which should easily charm fans of Little Dragon and the aforementioned Miss Li. Bonus: ‘Walk On By’ also kind of sounds like a slowcore cover of Seal’s ‘Killer’, which I’m desperately hoping is the track’s B-side.
