Following the departure of David McRedmond, new owners have promoted one of the station’s senior executives, Pat Kiely, to the role of MD at Ireland’s independent TV channel
Virgin Media Ireland, the leading connected entertainment provider, today named Pat Kiely as the new Managing Director of TV3. He succeeds David McRedmond, who left the station at the end of 2015, after a decade at the station.

Pat Kiely is an experienced media professional, who began his career in advertising. He has been with TV3 since its launch and has progressed through the ranks. He was central to TV3’s success in winning the rights to the Rugby World Cup, among other notable coups mounted in the area of sporting rights acquisition by the station recently.

The appointment is subject to regulatory approval by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
Virgin Media closed the deal to acquire TV3 on December 7, 2015.
