Why is it that when other bands churn out lyrics about internet phenomena, it's massively cringeworthy (let us not forget Paul Weller's ill-advised "Get your face off of Facebook"), but when seasoned swoon-rockers Bell X1 do it, we find ourselves grinning like morons? A line like "Watching a six year-old on YouTube playing drums to 'Billie Jean'/This is the stuff that binds us…" should make it impossible to enjoy the downbeat groove of 'Velcro', but Paul Noonan's quirky turn of phrase only adds to its charm.
