U2 and Third Man Records to release special edition of Carnaval de Luz
Carnaval de Luz arrives during U2's 50th anniversary year and has been described by The Edge as a "messy, provocative, sacred collection of songs."
U2 and Jack White's Third Man Records have joined forces for a special independent record store edition of Carnaval de Luz, U2's new album, out November 13.
The 12-track album will be pressed on opaque yellow vinyl with black designs - Third Man Records' distinctive colours. This edition will be available in 10 countries worldwide on the same day as the record's release.
With creative direction by Gavin Friday and art direction and design by Shaughn McGrath, alongside the Third Man team, this special edition of Carnaval de Luz was created specifically for independent music retailers.
Third Man Records was originally founded by The White Stripes' Jack White in Detroit in 2001, and opened its first physical store in 2009 in Nashville. It currently has three locations, including one in London, and nearly all of its records are recorded, printed and pressed in Detroit and produced by White.

Its final track, 'Torn', is a duet between Bono and the late Dolly Parton, in what turned out to be her last recorded vocal performance. Co-written by U2, Parton and Johnny McDaid, it is a country song detailing broken family ties. Another collaboration comes with Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía on 'The Mirror Maker'.
The Jacknife Lee-produced record has already been previewed by the lead single, 'Silencio', which U2 played live at a few surprise gigs last week - including a stop at their former high school in Dublin and a gig from the balcony of a cafe.
Marking their first LP since 2017's Songs of Experience, it also comes on the heels of the band releasing two six-track EPs earlier this year, Days of Ash and Easter Lily.
Earlier this month, U2 were named as MusiCares Persons of the Year for 2027, celebrating their demonstration of the "extraordinary power of music to bring people together, draw attention to urgent needs and inspire action."
