Tweak Bird
Weirdy jazz metal hybrid. come back! It’s not bad!
Peddling the kind of riffs Queens of the Stone Age mainman Josh Homme used to specialize in before he, er, lost his way, Tweak Bird’s eponymous jazz/metal record is made all the more special by the fact that there’s only two of them. A sprawling, hugely heavy piece of work, the strange vocals and use of theremins, saxophones and more make this a welcome walk on the weird side – so much so that we are itching to hear them live.
Key Track: ‘Lights In Lines’
