Cork band’s debut is the dog’s bollocks.
Rising from the ashes of acclaimed ‘90s rockers The Driven, Cork’s Pavlov’s Dogs’ are a force to be reckoned with. Their debut offering Truth Of Your Lies is a raw and raunchy affair that boasts a magnificent vocal performance from Paul Power that would put goose pimples on your goose pimples. Operating in the same territory as The Black Keys and The Kills, the band’s soulful brand of swamp rock is at its best when it’s totally stripped back and tunes like ‘Young Lovers’ and the title track ‘Truth Of Your Lies’ are wonderful, whiskey-soaked numbers that firmly mark Pavlov’s Dogs out as one of Ireland’s best no frills rock bands.
