True Love Cast Out All Evil
Psychedelia veteran channels Seasick Steve...
Sounding a bit like Seasick Steve only without the hokey gimmicks, former 13th Floor Elevators songwriter Roky Erickson's latest album proves he is still a true outsider who can continue to cut it 30 years on from the release of his first record. A whiskey soaked, unashamedly heart-felt record, True Love… is possibly one of the best country LPs of the year and if you're not moved by the likes of 'Please Judge' and 'Ain’t Blues Too Sad' you must be a robot (or Piers Morgan). Either way, True Love… has "crossover hit" stamped all over it.
