Tronic Treatment
Recorded live on three decks, the emphasis here is on funky tech-house and techno.
When the sleeve notes on your debut mix CD feature Carl Cox and Richie Hawtin singing your praises, you know you’re doing something right. At the same time, after an earful of Christian Smith’s Tronic Treatment it’s not like you’re going to need a superstar DJ to tell you the Swedish producer is rather nifty on the tables.
Recorded live on three decks, the emphasis here is on funky tech-house and techno, with Smith dropping some well timed electro tracks like Umek’s ‘Zeta Reticula’ and Hacker’s ‘Fadin’ Away’ when things get too hectic. Less predictable and far more enjoyable than the average one dimensional techno mix, Tronic is also varied and funky enough to appeal to the more mainstream listener.
