Tributes paid to Talos on The Tommy Tiernan Show
The tribute was performed by the late musician’s friends and family.
A tribute to the late musician Eoin French, AKA Talos, was performed on Saturday's season premiere of The Tommy Tiernan Show.
In 2023, French, along with Ye Vagabonds, Ólafur Arnalds, and Niamh Regan, wrote the track ‘We Didn’t Know We Were Ready’. The writers, as well as Jófríður Ákadóttir, Kate Ellis, Sandrayati Fay, Eoin’s wife Steph French, Dermot Kennedy, Laoise Leahy, Memorial, The Staves and Christof van der Ven performed the track this weekend on the show.
French passed away in August of last year, aged 36. He left a legacy of music behind to be released after his death, including an EP with Atli Örvarsson.
Watch the tribute below:
French grew up on the North side of Cork city, before studying architecture in University College Cork. His stage name is a reference to the mythical Talos, a giant automaton made of bronze that protected Crete.
The artist achieved many major musical career milestones including three albums; Wild Alee, Far Out Dust and Dear Chaos, which was released in October 2022. Talos was nominated for a Choice Music Prize in 2013 for his debut LP Wild Alee.
