Tribalizm
This CD proves that breaks is a versatile and more importantly entertaining sound
Nu skool breaks never attained the kind of mainstream popularity enjoyed by drum’n’bass, and, listening to Tribalizm, it’s hard to understand why it never broke into the mainstream.
Mixed by the long serving Rennie Pilgrem, also the man behind the TCR label, this CD proves that breaks is a versatile and more importantly entertaining sound. From the hardcore nuances of ‘Systems Online’ by Waveform & Crash, through the acidic ‘High Rollin’ by Koma & Bones and Pilgrem and collaborator BLIM’s percussive, tribal version of Uberzone’s ‘Bounce’, Tribalizm is funky, edgy fun and a near definitive exploration of modern breaks.
