To Others To One
Matilde Santing has been making wonderful records in her native Holland for the past 20 years. To Others To One is her debut release on these shores and it’s a very classy affair indeed.

The first thing that strikes you about Santing is her intonation. All the great singers have the knowledge of how to get the most out of the words at their disposal and Santing has a similar ability in abundance.
Musically, To Others To One has a late night, laidback sleek and jazzy feel to it. But, it’s by no means squeaky clean and over produced. Irving Berlin’s ‘How Deep Is The Ocean’ and the opening ‘Typical Situation’ are the highlights.
Just one thing. To fully enjoy To Others To One set aside a special time and space, and be in the mood for a bit of quiet introspection. It’ll pay dividends.
