The frontman opens up in the new issue about the death of his father, his debut solo album and new music from Ash. He's also put an LP sampler online...
"I was afraid that it would be really depressing and when people started saying it was very emotional I was a bit worried. I didn't want to put anyone through something very harrowing. People have been saying it's uplifting so I'm really happy with that."
Wheeler tells us how the passing of his father George inspired his solo record Lost Domain, out now.
Wheeler delves into detail on the slew of collaborators featured on his LP and the response his Ash bandmates had to such a personal album.
"They found it hard to listen to, I know it had Rick crying," he says.
