Ticket auctioning heralds new era for music fans
As forecast last year by Hot Press, ticket auctioning has arrived in Ireland.
Not content with charging a standard top ticket price of €551.75 for her July 14 show in Kildare’s Castletown House, Barbra Streisand is putting “seats up for grabs in the front five rows of Block A, the closest to the stage. Bid for your place at this highly anticipated event, starting at €560.”
Although new to this country, ticket auctioning is commonplace in the United States where it’s regarded as a legitimate way of combating touts.
