Three Easy Pieces
90s darlings return. The world has moved on.
I’m a firm believer that some things are better left in the past, so when I heard that early ‘90s icons Buffalo Tom were getting back together to give it one last shot I was filled with dread. As it turns out, I was right to trust my gut feeling, as their seventh studio album isn’t a return to form by anyone’s stretch of the imagination. 13 years ago, during the decade that hygiene forgot, the Tom might have seemed like the coolest band in the world when they were appearing on programmes such as My So-Called Life, but that was a long time ago and Three Easy Pieces sounds dated, jaded and overall a bit sad in 2008.
Key Track: ‘Good Girl’
