The Who's Quadrophenia To Get Sequel

A sequel to The Who's cult classic film Quadrophenia is now in the works. The movie was loosely based on the rock opera album of the same name by the band.
The original movie was released in 1979 and starred Phil Daniels as young London mod Jimmy Cooper. Daniels is returning in his original role and shooting is set to begin this summer. The film adapted the record of the same name as the soundtrack with the songs based on the clashes between mods and rockers on Brighton's beaches in the 1960's.
The sequel will focus on the original characters later in their lives and will be based on the book, To Be Someone by Peter Meadow. Ray Burdis is set to direct. Toyah Wilcox, who played Monkey in the original said, "Quadrophenia was really zeitgeist and it’s never really gone away, as every new generation connects with it".
The currently untitled sequel will be released next year.
