The Waterboys will bring their show The Fisherman’s Blues Revue to Dublin’s 3Arena on September 5, 2026. It will celebrate and explore their classic Fisherman's Blues album of the late 1980s.
They will be joined by Steve Earle, who will perform as a member of the Revue, offering original songs and adding vocals, guitar and mandolin to Waterboys numbers. Legendary Waterboys fiddler Steve Wickham will also rejoin the band for these shows.
Earle commented: “I only ever wanted to be in three bands: The Rolling Stones, NRBQ and the Waterboys.”

It will follow the release of ATLANTIC RAIN, a 3-disc set of newly discovered music from the Fisherman's Blues sessions, due out on July 17, 2026 via Chrysalis Records.
The Dublin show comes as part of a three-date Irish and UK tour which will also include stops in Glasgow's OVO Hydro and London’s The O2.
Of the shows, Waterboys leader Mike Scott says "The Fisherman's era was a transcendent time for The Waterboys and it's always exciting to delve into its spirit and see what happens.
“We'll be performing with an eight-piece band including the mighty Steve Earle who I've wanted to do a project with for many years. He'll bring Americana roots and killer songs to the party, and these promise to be among the best Waterboys shows ever."
