The Strypes added to the bill for Dame St. establishment's 5th Birthday gig.
Sweeney’s Bar have just announced that The Strypes are going back to their roots and returning to the first ever spot that they played in Dublin to headline Sweeney’s 5th Birthday this Friday.
Following on from previously-announced acts such as Kicking Bird, Leading Armies and more, the news of The Strypes is sure to cause a ripple of excitement throughout the heart of the city.
Reflecting on the now five-year old bar, The Strypes lead guitarist Josh McClorey said "We love Sweeney's because it was the first venue we played in Dublin...we were so nervous!"
Having released their debut album Snapshot in 2013 to massive success, the four boys from Cavan embarked on a tour across the UK and Europe in support of the Arctic Monkeys, and just this March made their biggest TV appearance to date, appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman performing their single ‘What A Shame’ (which can be seen below).
Entry on the night is free with wristbands which are available from Sweeneys from 6pm Friday 11 July on a first come first serve basis.
