Contributors from The Darklands Collective include A Lazarus Soul’s Brian Brannigan, Meryl Streek and more.
Stefan Murphy & The Darklands Collective are releasing the song 'Prayer For The Palestinian People', released publicly to help raise funds for the Stay Human school, an Irish aided and internationally run school in Gaza.
Contributors from The Darklands Collective include Meryl Streek, A Lazarus Soul’s Brian Brannigan, Alice Jago, Maitiú Ó Casaide, Dan Doherty and Gary Lonergan, accompanying The Sleeveens' Stephen Murphy.
“The subject matter in this song will need no clarification,” reads an official press statement. “For the non-secular, singing can be a method of praying. This prayer goes out for the people Palestine. For an end to their occupation. For their freedom and for their right to live in peace.”
Stay Human is a mutual aid initiative aiming to provide classroom learning, food, water, and humanitarian assistance to communities in Gaza, offering classes to 120 children taught by three teachers since September 2024.
Stephan Murphy plays Vicar Street on December 16, opening for Damien Dempsey.
Donations can be made by purchasing the single on Bandcamp, or through the Stay Human website.
