The Skids announce Belfast & Dublin shows

The great news for men and women of a certain age is that Dunfermline’s finest, The Skids, are getting back together next year to celebrate their 40th birthday. Mass cries of "Albert Tatlock!" are sure to ensue as they kick the tour off in The Academy, Dublin (May 26) and Limelight, Belfast (27).
The line-up features original members Richard Jobson, Bill Simpson and Mike Baillie plus Bruce and Jamie Watson from Big Country, the band Stuart Adamson formed after The Skids imploded in the early ‘80s. Adamson tragically took his own life in 2001 and will loom large in people's thoughts during the shows.
One of the more cerebral punk outfits, they quickly broke away from 1-2-3-4 orthodoxy and penned such whipsmart songs as ‘Circus Games’, ‘Into The Valley’, ‘Working For The Yankee Dollar’ and ‘The Saints Are Coming’, which was later covered by U2 and Green Day.
