The Sellout
It's been three years since we've had a new record from 6ft soulstress Macy Gray and while we weren't exactly chomping at the bit to get our mitts on her fifth LP, I must admit her hickory-smoked vocals are always welcome in Camp HP. Thankfully, 'The Sellout' does not refer to Gray losing her musical integrity, but that doesn't mean it's a particularly potent song either. That delightful rasp is still there but sadly, it's wasted on a tired melody and some rather prosaic pop.
